Feeding a newborn baby requires learning and practice, even for experienced parents and caregivers. That’s why it's important to build a foundation of knowledge to support your journey. In this class, you’ll learn to identify and meet your baby’s feeding needs more confidently in the first 40 days after birth.

Feel free to bring a partner or support people so that they will be better prepared to navigate newborn feeding with you.

Topics covered include:

  • human milk composition
  • how to establish lactation & chest/breastfeeding
  • hunger and fullness cues
  • positioning basics
  • how to know your baby is feeding well
  • separation, milk expression, alternate feeding methods
  • chest/breastfeeding and harm reduction
  • navigating common feeding concerns
  • where to access infant feeding support

Because each group of participants is unique and brings their own lived experience, the class is adaptable to your questions.
