Learn everything you need to know about starting solids. This HUB class is geared towards parents of babies from birth to 12 months old. You will receive up-to-date information provided by a Pediatric Dietitian so that you leave feeling confident about starting solids and becoming a competent feeder!

 In this class, you will learn:

  • When, how, what, and how much to feed your baby
  • Your baby's nutrition needs during the first year
  • Complimenting chest/breastfeeding and/or formula
  • Pureed foods vs baby-led weaning
  • Food allergies and choking concerns
  • Snack and meal ideas, family friendly recipes
  • Feeding tips and techniques
  • Hands on food demonstration
  • Q&A period to answer your questions


Amy Chow, BSc, RD

is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with over a decade of experience.  She works with families at Chow Down Nutrition on introducing solids, managing picky eating, and helping families form good habits that will contribute to a lifetime of health and nutrition.

Amy is an SOS-trained feeding therapist and has gained her clinical experience working as a pediatric and allergy dietitian at HealthLink BC (8-1-1) and at BC Children’s Hospital.  Most importantly, she is also a mom of a 7-year-old who has helped her gain a lot of real-life perspectives! Amy is passionate about inspiring families to feel confident about nutrition and bringing joy back into eating.  


The Pregnancy HUB is a program hosted by the BCAPOP.
