Childbirth is an experience that comes with many choices and decisions for the birthing person to make. Learn about the evidence and benefits vs. risks of medical procedures commonly used in maternity care and how developing a birth plan can facilitate learning and foster communication with your care team.

Feel free to bring a partner or support person so they will feel more confident and prepared to provide support throughout the birth experience.

Topics covered include:

  • informed choice and decision making
  • special circumstances and medical procedures
  • cesarean birth
  • birth plans and other communication tools

Because each group of participants is unique and brings their own lived experience, the class is adaptable to your questions.
